Having recently purchased an existing building and lot for their first remote store, the owner sought to improve the site’s appearance and functionality. Their initial idea was to pave the site and add landscaping. Given the topography of the site and the building’s proximity to the state highway, achieving the owner’s goals while respecting ADA requirements was a complex solution.

Steve Ribble created a grading and circulation plan that provided easy customer access, efficient delivery and loading without significant and costly earthwork. Steve coordinated with MaineDOT to address access management, designed a grade separating retaining wall and added native plants to provide a low maintenance landscape. Steve then acted as the owner’s representative and received bids, recommended a contractor, and oversaw construction.
